Termignoni ECU advice needed

  1. Hi
I have some Termignoni silencers to fit to my 2008 848 but not the ECU that came supplied with the silencers. I have been offered an ECU that came supplied with the Termignoni silencers for a 848 Evo Corse. Can anyone tell me if this ECU is compatible with my 2008 848 + Termignoni silencers please? I have the technical expertise of a Neanderthal so have no idea if the ECU from the EVO Corse Termignonis, which I believe has some technical, performance improvements compared to the original, standard 848 I own, will allow my bike to run correctly. If anyone can give me an accurate answer, I’d be most grateful. Many thanks.

  2. Stick with getting your own re-flashed to the DP spec.

    Save the heartache and £££

Give Chrisw a shout on here....he's your man.

  3. The 848 Corse ECU will give you a permanent MIL on the dash as it has DTC and DQS. Your bike does not.

It will probably run your bike but there is a difference between the ignition and fuelling maps to those of the 96519408B DP ECU for the standard 848.

If the Corse ECU is cheap enough then it can always be converted to the 96519408B mapping (PM me).

  4. Many thanks for the informed opinion I needed. Much appreciated.

  5. Sorry - forgot to ask you how much you would charge for the ecu reflash please. Also, if you don't mind me asking please, is it easy to swop the ecu over? Would it just be a straight switch once reflashed or are there other mods needed please? Many thanks for your time.

  6. The ecu is held in place by two bolts and has two multicore wiring connectors plugged into it.

The hardest thing you'll need to do is remove the left hand side panel to get at it.....it's directly below your battery.

Once it's installed you should really reset the TPS, lots of people don't, but I'd advise it........

Again PM Chrisw for the cost of a reflash he'll advise you best.

  7. Hi Button,
please could you give me a call if you haven't already had your ECU re-flashed - I have the correct ECU for your bike and need yours so we could do a swap. I wanted to have the correct ECU as it gives you the correct settings - fuelling and it balance etc. for your bike.
you can call me on 07765 253413 or email: [email protected]
    thanks

  8. Interesting thread.

I have a few questions, does the std 848 have the looms and connections to install the DQS & DTC if you wanted to?

I know you will need the ECU but is it technically possible ?

  10. ECU can be flashed to correct mapping

If the loom has the connectors then the upgrade can be done
