If I shop around I can get premium for 70p / litre. Btw - The mustang is Australia’s best selling performance car bar none.
Agree, if it's your thing then totally admire you for taking the plunge Nigel, wish I had the balls to do that sometimes, we are not here for very long (and nor is the free use of a "polluting" ICE equipped projectile!)
Surprised Admin allowed this, not that I mind ;-) Especially, when my cheeky butt girl photo got banned/removed! Hey ho... who said life was fair? Guess the new graphics were a tad too subtle for some?
Welcome to the world of Mustangs. I've no experience of the newer ones other than talking to owners at meets and from Facebook pages, but there are a few things to be wary of though I'm afraid.... The oil coolers on these are crap. It's a water to oil cooler that quite often becomes an oil to water mixer. A lot of the Mustang specialists in the UK are doing a roaring trade in swapping them out for air to oil coolers at about a grand a go. Don't panic, but as soon as it's out of warranty...... Those "pony" puddle lamps are one of the first things to go. You can change them fairly easily without disassembling the mirror though. If you don't already, then when at home keep the key in a faraday pouch. Like a lot of modern cars they're ridiculously easy to steal if you can boost the signal. Again, in the UK security specialists seem to favour Ghost immobilisers to get around this problem and an old fashoined steering lock that completely surrounds the steering wheel. I don't know if the warranty system is the same but if it is then make sure the body warranty book is stamped at service time as well as the normal service book. There are a few corrosion points on these, principally the bonnet which is an alloy skin on a steel frame which obviously isn't a good idea. In the UK the dealers don't stamp the body book and then refuse to replace bonnets and wings under warranty. Hopefully Ford dealers over there are better than over here generally! Maybe the different climate means corrosion isn't such an issue. The above looks negative but on Facebook pages people are trying to solve issues so you see the negatives more. To end on a positive though... don't they sound amazing!!
Thanks for the heads up, yeah I’ve been lurking on the various forums (2 weeks in Quarantine will do that) I have 5 year manuf warranty and dealers been a diamond, let me have a test drive over night and whilst they waited for the funds to clear, they gave me a courtesy car. Didn’t know about the body warranty book, thanks
Has anyone nominated Clive Stubblefield (ex James Brown’s band) yet? If nothing else, he was probably the most uncredited yet most prolific drummer as there must be literally thousands and thousands of tracks which sampled his riffs.
Surely you mean finding a job on the back burner for now whilst I go hooning around in this fantastical Yankee muscle car. That looks such a great car, enjoy.
