Hi All, I have a 2019 Multistrada 1260s that i bought from a main dealer (ex demo). Warranty expires in May. Does anyone know if there are any options available to me to extend the warranty? I'm awaiting a response from the main dealer but thought i could see what peoples experiences were on here as well. Some conflicting info out there on the net.... Thanks, Phil
Ever Red warranties, the official Ducati warranty extension is only available at the time of purchase, or 30 days thereafter, of the bike from new.
I took 3 year warranty on my monster expires in November this year, I am having the bike serviced in February. I intend to ask if the warranty can be extended, as long as the bike has been serviced and not showing an excessive mileage it should be possible. I will let you know how I get on.
Thanks! Would be good if you can keep us posted. I've just scheduled my service for March, the response i got from the dealer is: "Unfortunately the extended warranty is not possible to do, this can only be taken out on a new bike when purchased or a used bike sale under the approved used scheme." My final question back will be if my bike bought as ex-demo was not considered part of the approved used.. but either way as @Bumpkin has said i think that would have to have been at the point of sale or 30 days after...
I don't hold out much hope for you. I tried to extend my warranty back in 2019. At that time (pre ever red warranty) Ducati were offering Ducati Approved Plus on their website. My bike at the time met the criteria for an extended Approved Plus warranty. Initially my enquiry looked positive with Ducati asking for my documentation. Then a few days later the Approved Plus warranty details disappeared from the Ducati website and was replaced by Ever Red. Below is the final email from Ducati. Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding the Ducati EverRed Extended Warranty An update to UK legislation has necessitated in a change in product which Ducati have taken the time to develop and make sure is suitable for our customers. This development time and the following legal requirements, checks and sign-offs have resulted in a time period where new bikes are eligible for the new product. Regrettably this option is only available within a 30day period of first registration and it is unfortunately not legally possible for us to apply a warranty even though we would be happy to do so if it were available. We recognise the inconvenience the legal exclusions will cause and have the opportunity to assist these customers as part of our Goodwill Policy. Certain criteria will need to be met and all dealers are fully aware of the procedure. In the first instance please contact your preferred dealer to discuss next steps. We do value customer’s comments and feedback highly and with this in mind it has been duly noted and shared with the factory. Once again thank you for contacting Ducati UK. I asked Ducati about mine too, when the Hypermotard was less than a year old. Sadly I was also told to bugger off despite the website showing the product that I wanted to buy (technical error apparently as only available after purchase in Europe).
In fact I can no longer find a 'contact us' on the Ducati UK website. Sadly it makes me reconsider my plans to buy another Ducati.
