St4 Motor In St2 Frame? Straight Forward Or Not Worth The Hassle?

  1. Hi all,

Whilst I still haven't finished the 750monster rebuild - I've now got another potential project.

Picked up a well priced rolling chassis and panels for an ST2 and have a lead on 90% of the bits I need to put it back on the road - however its an ST4 motor etc that I've found...

Just wondering how much of a hassle it it to fit into the ST2 frame given the straight crossmember in the st2 frame rather than bent one on st4.

I'm a reasonably competent diy mechanic but don't have access to welding gear and am just weighing up the amount of extra work involved... I know I could go and get an ST4 frame for a couple hundred pounds but would like to explore using what Ive got 1st... thanks in advance...

  2. Get that Monster fixed, it will be summer before you know it and you will need it to find maximum joy!

  3. I’m working on it!
