1260 Raising Forks On 1260 Multistrada Enduro

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by GG33, Feb 15, 2021.

  1. Can it be done? If so, by how much? I am looking at all options for lowering seat height slightly before I go ahead and purchase.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Is this in addition to the 20mm you get from the lowered seat ? Andy

  3. Yes, in addition. I read one poster said he raised the forks by 10mm on a 1200 Enduro. Just wondered if it was an option on the 1260. Spec says seat height 840-880mm but unsure if that is the range with standard seat or it drops to 820mm with low seat?

  4. It's definitely something I've considered, although I don't know what the clearance is like for the front wheel against the front of the engine.

  5. 860mm standard, 880mm with high seat and 840mm with low seat according to the web site. Had the forks pushed through on a ‘17 Supersport so it would seem on the face of it, it is doable but no idea by how much. How good is your relationship with your local dealer’s workshop manager ? I’d ask him. Andy

  6. It all depends what you are looking to achieve. Lowering the forks by a couple of mm will aid steering the bike. I went down 10 mm which is the max you can go as the top of the forks will hit the top fairing so I can reach the ground that much more easily. In doing so the bike becomes too steeply raked so I dialled out some rear preload to even things up. The easiest way to do it is to remove the side aluminum coverings and tank plastic cover to gain access to the bolts as you will need to torque them again. All in all happy. Bike steers beautifully
