Whilst taking my bike out for a run i found that when i took off from low speeds using the clutch i was getting a loud rattle from the top of the engine, this noise didnt happen if i built up the revs and then fed the clutch out. The bike is a 1993 and has covered less than 15000 miles if anyone has any idea what this could be or any experience with a similar problem please let me know. Thanks
Sounds like the clutch needs a clean as a first pass. Take the plates out and give the steel plates a clean with brake cleaner. Also check the edges of the clutch basket for ridges left by the friction plates banging away, if there are any deep ridges see if they can be dressed out using a file. Then re-assemble, but DO NOT use anything more than hand pressure to tighten up the small allen screws that hold the clutch spring caps on with otherwise you run the risk of snapping off the post. Give it a go and let us know the results.
