749 Termignoni?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Trevsked, Jun 14, 2013.

  1. Hi all,

I have a standard 2005 749 and am looking at fitting a 54mm Termignoni system. Will I have to rechip for this or not and if so where is the best place to go and cost?

    Thanks.

    Trevor.

  2. I put Termis on mine and asked the same question years ago on the Ducatisti site.
I was advised to just try it and see. Mine was absolutely fine. No chip needed.
However, I have just acquired an ECU with a map for Termis, so I'm keen to try it out to see if it makes any difference.

  3. Let us know if there's a difference, I'm about to get a ecu reflashed.

    Cheers, Keith.

  4. I have a 2005 749 that didn't really run that great from day one apparently (used to belong to my brother who bought it as an ex demo). I fitted a temignoni end can and ran it for a while before it started to misfire and eventually intermittently only fired on one cylinder. Carbon on a valve was causing it (stopping it from closing). I never put the race can back on just in case incorrect fueling was causing the problem(and mot). My point is, it might work ok for a bit but without correct fueling might be a problem. I'm not an expert just stating what I've found.

  5. The standard Ducati maps are not good at all, regardless of which ECU you use. If you want to get the best out if the bike and get a smooth throttle response with good safe fueling it would be wise to invest in a remap with some like CJS.

It'll be the best mod you'll do.

  6. Thats very interesting as this is exactly the problem I have now.
I need to strip the engine :(
