Removing Old Thread Locker.?

  1. The easy way, apart from buying new. ?

  3. Chloroethylene based brake cleaner should dissolve it.

  4. Heat +1.
    Then thread chaser for nut/female and wire brush for bolt thread to clean before reinserting with new thread lock.

  5. Tap for holes, die for bolts
     
  6. Doesn't acetone soften it up/dissolve it?
     
  7. Hot, hot heat...:bomb:
     
  8. personally , i just add a drop or two of new thread lock and put it back in ,but i am sure you must have a reason for wanting to clean it off ?
     
  9. Heat or “plus gas” if trying to loosen.
    If removing from threads then brake or carb cleaner and wire brush.
