From China you are liable for Vat and duty. Usually it works out about 25% of the total. Often you get away with it but not always. For small parcels they usually put value zero so noone cares. Larger items is a bit different in my experience. If they use a courier like ups, tnt, etc you always pay tax, duty and a fee. If it's China post I'd say chances are 50/50.
Worked for me. Surprisingly good quality in terms of finish, not quite OEM level but can pass as they’re good enough. Did cost me an additional £50 in import taxes so bear that in mind. Fitted straight out of the box, no drama
It was three years ago so I can’t remember the exact seller off hand but it looked exactly like your advert. In my case the fit and colour match was pretty much perfect (I’ve kept the originals to put back on if I sell the bike) but for now they’re still on the bike three years later.
I had Chinese fairings on my blade after o was knocked off it, not as much flex and some excess plastic on trim parts but overall ok, main downside is the paint is thinner than cling film and will wear very fast.
Mine still look like new after 3 years. I’d have no hesitation recommending them, particularly the full set for £300. Can’t really lose imo
I ordered a set for my 748 of AliExpress just because a want to use the bike (road and track) not worrying about a scratch. Curious about quality and fitting but paid 300,- so can’t complain since original uppers go for that money alone. Bought a spare original 999s fairing set in the past for just 250,- or so, that’s how it goes...
I think your mate was lucky or maybe the seller underestimated the cost on the customs documents which is a tactic used by some of these sellers. I bought a set off eBay years ago, I think they cost about £500 at the time and I got stung for import tax. I can’t remember now how much but it took the shine off the price I’d paid and made it all quite expensive in the end. They also took a lot of effort to get to fit properly and were only good from about 10 yards away! Flies in the lacquer on the nose cone I remember. The bottom brackets on the belly broke/cracked while I was out riding one day and both side fairings completely blew off the bike and landed in the road in several pieces. It was a few years ago now so fit and quality may have improved but they are cheaper now than when I bought mine.
I have bought some just before xmas off this sellar but i haven't had time to fit them.i think that company was the only one that had 100% pos feedback thats why i went with them....every time i contacted them i got a quick response..the fairings came really well wrapped and on time...i think about 3 weeks shipping...i only went for a matt black finish with white number boards but quality looks ok..they do feel like a hard..(er) plastic than standard but as mentioned from others...for £300 thet cant be too bad... Hopefully gna try and fit them next week so will let you know how it goes if i do...
Cheap! Thanks bit strong if you dont know someone's position bikes not worth that much to begin with my painter says he can repair tha danaged fairing, that will be the second time I have had to get it repainted Now it's easy for someone on a ducati forum that has 25 large to drop on a v4 for example to say its cheap shit don't bother, just go buy a new carbon set, but basically ask yourself this - what can you afford?
I had a Chinese 1098 track set on on old build of mine. If you ask, sometimes the seller will mark down the value of the goods.
Going to the painters Monday see what he says Painter says he can repair it £300 not that bad, just the mirror now unless I can patch mine together
