Hi Guys, I know this thread is a bit old but I have just been going through my new to me 996 sps, and found the rectifier connector for the yellow wires melted. I plan to order shendengen regulator FH012AA but I notice the diavel uses FH012CA. Also I will order the triumph connector cable T2500676. Will this be enough? Or do I need anything else to connect everything? The other problem is that the connector is melted on the bike side also. The parts list doesn’t show this connector, only the whole wiring loom. Any assistance gratefully received.. Cheers David
I bought a Triumph Mosfet RR and loom for my 748R. The plug is a lot more substantial and I haven’t had any issues since fitting it over a year ago. RR stays nice and cool
Brilliant, thanks for the quick reply. Do you remember which part number or which model you bought the RR for? thanks again
Melted connectors isn't necessarily an indication that your RR is faulty. Even small amounts of resistance in the connectors will cause heating, and then connection failure, as the currents can be high. You could try replacing the connectors first, or even solder the wires as a temp solution to test your RR.
As the wires have suffered, it may be worth cutting them back to as close to the alternator as possible and replace with new.
I’ve decided to order the triumph connector and new RR. I will then delete the melted connector with inline solder connectors. Seems to me the original connector doesn’t have enough insulation. When I get around to removing the engine I’ll look at over hauling the whole wiring loom as I’d like to upgrade the starter wires coil wires. But hopefully I can have a summer of fun first..
Can anyone point me in the direction of a rectifier, preferably from EU I am just coming across Chinese copies I presume all I Need T2500676 cable FH012AA? Just plug n play for single phase setup? Cannot find any guides
Since I upgraded to lithium batteries, both my 916 and 998 are equipped with Carmo Electronics Mosfet r/r. That, connector delete and improved starter/coil wires from Exact and the bikes feel very strong at start up and electrically reliable. Piece of mind. They are based in the Netherlands and I am really happy with their products. https://www.carmo.nl/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4318_1083_1086&zenid=t61h2l5gvnp7bltph6tstganr2
I used the Triumph wiring adaptor with a Ducati original Panigale V4 Mosfet which should be a safe/reliable options
