  1. Hi everyone, i finally managed to get myself a 2007 1098 yesterday, but the dipped beam headlight doesnt work??? if i put the main beam switch on and flash full beam both bulbs light up but the dipped beam which should be permanently on, isnt? the bulb is obviously fine or it wouldnt flash, iv checked the fuses and theyre all ok. The side lights and everything else works perfect just the permanent dipped beam....:frown:
This is an MOT failure if it isnt sorted and more importantly i cant see so good in the dark haha.
If anyone can help it would be massively appreciated!!!!
    Cheers

  2. You'll only have dipped on one side....right hand as you sit on it, the left will only do main beam.

If it isn't permanently lit, after starting, on the right hand side, it could be as silly as the bulb fooked, I cant remember if that one has a twin filament, one for dipped and one for main.

    I'll check it out

  3. Cheers for the reply, the bulb works fine because on the clutch side handle bar theres a control witch swaps between dipped beam and main beam, when i switch it forward to the main beam mode and flash the full beam trigger both sides come on? but when its just set to dipped beam and i flash the full beam trigger only the clutch side bulb flashes.
the throttle side should permanently be on as im sure you know....
so the bulb is fine, the fuses are fine so i think ive narrowed it down to either a permanent live from the ignition to the bulb or maybe a relay???? iv only had the bike 2 days but im not letting italian wiring put me down, im taking it as character that jap crap doesnt provide! luckily my dad is a bike MOT tester so im all road legal for 12 months at least
P.S. the carbon cowl is going on the classifieds as of now

  4. Finally think I've clocked it! There's a relay behind the nose fairing for the dipped beam headlight. Ducati Manchester keep this part in stock...... I wonder why haha. I'm buying one tomorrow so fingers crossed £8 could fix my beloved 1098
