Hi, just wondered if this panel looks oem? The ones on my r are bare on the insides with writing/dates. This one appears the same and has no outer signs of a repaint.. Thanks
Yes, it definitely looks overspray and is not the same as my oem panels. I wondered Ducati had changed suppliers over the years and the finish had changed on spares.. have also noticed the top vent is more elongated compared to original.. Anyone recognize the manufacturer or got a thought on value?
A quick and easy way to check if there’re original is to see if the part number is etched into the plastic on the inside with the various dates alongside it.
They are carbon fibre on the 2004 model, not found a part number on mine anywhere but then I have never taken the padding off the insides. There is a little hand written label on all the OEM panels/nose cone with the date and I assume the initials/signature of the person that made them. Not sure about the later ABS panels. Hard to tell whether the one pictured here is OEM.
They are OEM, no aftermarket supplier bothered with the studs for the useless sound dampening material...
I have a brand new set of carbon original fairings including the wind deflectors in their original packaging if anyone is interested.
I have a set of OEM carbon fibre fairings I would like refreshing. Anyone had this done? how did they cope with not painting over the logo? any recommendations?
