Ohlins S4r Rear Suspension

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Spjallen, May 1, 2021.

  1. I’m after a s4r ohlins unit for a monster 620 race bike. Please pm me if you have one to sell. Would consider WP or Maxton units

  2. I put a 916 shock in my 620 Simon

  3. That’s great to know. I thought the 748 and 916 may fit but wasn’t sure. Any adjustments to make it fit?

  4. I had Showa. Skids had a Penske iirc upside down. The Libby back chamber can foul otherwise it was direct bolt it

  5. Can you adjust ride height on the online shock? I have it on an st4, but I'm on my tippy toes

  6. ohlins !!! been reading about the ride height rod and after reading think ill leave well alone

  7. What did you read? Do you have a link?

  8. If there is a ride height rod, it normally can be adjusted. If you drop the back, just dip the front a bit to match

  9. i actually found it on this forum, i googled st4 ride height

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  10. There are a few threads with hard to adjust tales, perhaps due to being assembled dry /seizing. I'd think it still worthwhile doing if you will feel better with more of your feet on the ground.

  11. i really do think i need to drop it or i will have to sell it, we all know what happens on uneven ground with loads of bikers watching !!!!!!

  12. A great reason to get it adjusted!

  13. Have you tried yet? Lots of penetrating oil night before if it’s looks very jammed

  14. I haven't, doesn't look like there is much or any adjustment left to take in any further though

  15. There are aftermarket rods are available which reduce the ride height by 30mm +/-

  16. I’ll have a look at mine, but suspect it could be a 916 rod

  17. I have a recently rebuilt / serviced ST4s ohlins with new spring on my S2r that I may consider selling as I've never been entirely happy where I've put the remote reservoirs... You haven't mentioned price but I'd be looking for enough to buy a new Nitron to replace it if you were interested

  18. I used an ohlins from an ST2 with remote reservoir on a different monster. Neat solution but that was on a early carb model

  19. Does an ST4 shock work with a 620 monster? Could you PM the details

  20. Sorry don’t know, mine was fitted to a 583 with the hoop height adjuster. If the fitting looks same, and length is ok, could be worth a gamble.
