  2. Aberdeen Bike Bus (UK wide) - Jacqui
    Moto Movers - Mike
    2 Wheel Trans - Chris

    All highly recommended.

Last move was with Mike @ £150 for a trip from Hertfordshire to Staffordshire.

Next week is short notice but you may be lucky.

  3. To get my ST3 back from Salisbury, Wiltshire to Berkeley, Gloucestershire, I used this crowd. I can't remember how much it was but you can get a quote. Top service and I could track the van on its journey.

  4. Great thanks guys, i will make some enquiries with the information provided

    cheers

  5. There's also Chas Mortimer who has an excellent reputation but I've no direct experience.

He's always quoted a bit on the high side but he's very experienced and well respected.

    Spoilt for choice!

  6. I used Bike Haul. They are in the midlands area and I recommend them. Hubby and wife team. It cost me £120 to move my bike from Yorkshire to Surrey.

  8. Plus one for A2B Motorcycle Movers, they've just collected my 900SS and delivered it, proper vans and none of this 15 bikes on a trailer held one with one strap nonsence. I'd definitely use them again.

  9. What did a2b charge for transportation

  10. Hi Glen, they charged me £156 for a pickup from Rickmansworth and deliver to Ipswich, maybe not the cheapest but I'm OK with paying a bit extra for people who know what they're doing, and proper biking people who go out and ride their own bikes at a weekend.

  15. A2B charged me around £140 couple years back but were very good as mentioned above

  19. You might have a good experience with these but if I can just mention that when I have been to bike shops recently two have commented on the types who are turning up to collect bikes, one shop near Peterborough two Latvian or Lithuanian fellas arrived to collect a sidecar in a year old panel van obviously it wouldn’t fit due to wheel arches so they removed the boxing and proceeded to lump hammer the metal wheel arch flat and got the sidecar in, the mechanic/garage owner pointed out it was a year old van and it might be noticed but the fellas assured him they would rebuild the box sections. The same garage told me they turn people away when they believe the bike has no chance of getting to the destination unharmed.

In Barnet at a bike dealers the other day the guy working told me he’s seen a wagon pull up to chuck a bike on and use one piece of rope to wrap around it, others turn up usually online transporters absolutely clueless to the point they do not really understand the art of pushing and steering a bike.

I do online bike collections occasionally but usually with other goods on at the same time so I am definitely not a bike courier but I am insured for bikes specifically to £25,000 and I care greatly about them like they are my own but I am not a bike courier.

I moved a scooter on Thursday from Barnet to Bournemouth pictures below, van looks a tad untidy but not too bad but more importantly the scooter is looked after...I see bikes been moved all the time rarely do I see multiple covers been used on them by bike movers, you could say covers don’t matter but that’s not really the point as if I’m buying a bike and it gets delivered I want to see care taken over it even if not overly necessary it’s just a nice touch I also like to see the new owner get a bit chirpy watching the blankets come off.
