  1. this question should rival the infamous "what oil" and "what tires/tyres" questions ... but here goes anyway:

what color/colour powder coat should I get for an extra set of stock aluminum wheels for my iceberg white 2018 Multi 1260s?

and for reference, the current/stock wheels are a satin gold color/colour.

  2. Nothing personal here but why would you spend good money on powder coating crappy cast wheels?
In addition to the painting, you'll have to pay for mounting and balancing and you'll probably have to buy new rubbers.

I know this will be more expensive but there's a huge handling performance improvement in getting light forged wheels over heavy cast units.
You can sell your OEM to offset the cost.
Forged wheels will look a lot better also.

  5. wow ... you completely avoided supplying an answer to the actual question, and instead injected your opinions on pretty much everything else. what's your opinion on global warming, eh (as a fellow Canadian)?

  6. Must be a hard thing to say as a Leeds fan!

  7. Girlfriend’s ‘17 SuperSport is white with red wheels and it looks really smart. Andy

  8. @DarR I can’t remember the last bike when I didn’t get the wheels powder coated.

Factory finish is usually crap and Ducati are no exception. I generally wait until the tyres need replacing, but not always.

@john clelland for me, you can’t beat the gold. But I’d get them coated either way as you will have a better more durable finish and it will apparently annoy @DarR !

I haven’t coated the wheels on my 1260, I just replaced them with carbon ones!

  9. I’d go with gloss gray/grey, but I think matte or satin would also look great.

  10. Satin Silver gets My vote. We want pics afterward!

  11. LOL. Good one :)
BTW, did you really replace the cast OEM's with Carbon Fiber wheels?
My point exactly. That deserves kudos. Which CF ones ? Rotobox, BST or other?
    Photos please!

  12. Hi John,
It's not that I avoided the question deliberately. I just think that it's a good opportunity to upgrade your wheels.
However, If it's just a color question for a white bike, I'll answer using my own bike (which is why I've abstained).

  15. @john clelland, check these out!
Those BST Rapid TEK are awesome. If I didn't already have forged Marchesini's on both bikes , I would pull the trigger on these or OZ Gloss as a close second.
@gc6269, On that note, what did you do with your OEM's?
If you still have them and want to sell them, I'll buy them. Let me know.

  16. Agree mate :joy: However Leeds did play in a red top at one time and the goalkeepers I think David Harvey and David Stewart wore a red goalie top at some stage possibly John lukic also wore a red top at some point but this is from a dodgy memory ....but yes red is not my favourite colour even on a Ducati yellow, pearl white, and black are my preferences :joy:
