Im on the lookout for a short pair of gloves with good padding in the palm (lower thumb/lower wrist) area, i have a short pair already with not much padding, my winter gloves are about right but if i can find a short pair with more that would good, now the shops are open i can have a look, If anyone has any suggestions At the moment the right hand has trouble with Carpal tunnel, the injections are not up too much.
I have had several sets of Dainese 4 stroke gloves. They last well and offer the same sort of hand/knuckle protection as the full metal gloves without the wrist/scaphoid sections. They are getting a little salty price wise these days, though I would have another pair as they fit me very well.
@Roadtrip Alpinestars gloves are now junk. They're more likely to break apart before they break-in. My Alpinestars dealer actually refuse to stock them. Special orders only. Look at the FIVE 5 brand for quality. That's all they make so they better be the best at it. https://www.five-gloves.com/en/home/
I bought these Knox gloves a size larger so I could fit Keiss heated inners. They fit without and are really comfy as summer gloves
I have the short version. Love them for the fit. Probably the best fit I've ever got. Although it does not have much padding on the palm which will cause calluses. I used to ride Dainese gloves and those are excellent at preventing developing calluses on the palm, but not Knox .
Another vote for the Knox Handroid Pods (pods = the short ones). Make sure you get absolutely the correct size for you or the skeletal armour over the knuckles can be very uncomfortable when using bike levers. When you get it right they are really comfortable.
Yeah my very expensive supertech gloves I expected to be amazing compared to my 80 quid pair of others, split at the seem after one trackday at Donington. Was not happy. Covered under warranty, but it was terrible quality. Thank F I didn't have to test them fully. Could have been a one off, I'd expect better quality assurance.
If its gloves always go HELD these days. Picked these up last year. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/234909
Agreed, I even wear them as much as possible all year unless it’s wet, just put the heated grips on to be cosy.
Disaster Alpinestars glove stories like yours and mine are rampant. I'm sure there are good glove manufacturers out there but FiVE 5 only makes motorcycle gloves, If they lose that reputation, they have nothing else to fall back on. For me, that means a lot. Check them out. https://www.five-gloves.com/en/home/
Knox Orsa or Knox Handroid short gloves. Scaphoid protection and Boa tightening system nuff said worth the money.
Plus one. Superb. Expensive though if memory serves. Mine were heavily discounted Doohan reps many years ago. Quality well above anything else I have seen.
I have small hands / stubby fingers and have the same problem finding gloves that are a suitable fit. The Dainese ones I have at the moment are a great fit.
