1260 Rear Sprocket Loose

  1. Hi All,

    For info...
I have a 1260 Enduro with 800 miles. Was today cleaning the chain and rear sprocket and saw one of the nuts moving as I cleaned it with a cloth. Two of the nuts were hand tight. Only one of the nuts was fully tight.
Might be worth checking if you have the same bike.

  2. I would check with where you got it pal!

  3. I would be very worried about the fitter you have used. I have before now had worse & tend to do things myself now.

  4. I bought it new

  5. As JohnoDuc said above, the first thing you should be doing is getting in contact with where you bought it and get them to solve the issue. Incredibly poor PDI check it seems. Also no doubt you've had the first service and it would appear to have been missed then too, even if it isn't specifically a service issue at the 600+ mile interval.

  6. that's crazy from new. As above, I think I would contact the seller to see if they can shed any light and unless they offer, then I would be doing a full general nut and bolt check of the whole bike. Was there "tighten confirmation" paint applied to any of the nuts? - not sure if there would be normally - others can confirm.

  7. Regarding the 'tighten confirmation' referred to above, based on my experience with my 1260S from new and each time some work involving removal/re-fixing has been done, there very definitely was and still is paint marking to denote torqued-up appropriately. The dealership involved should be hugely embarrassed that this has slipped through their QA net! :confounded:
