The Bridgestone is a profile of its own mate and does fit. you are right though, most other 200’s wouldn’t fit really
Thanks all, seems like mainly pros for making this change. Friends of mine are on '07 and '18 blades and have both recently changed from 50 to 55 and have given the same feedback so think I'll give the 200/60 a go
So, just fitted 200/60 and this is what clearance looks like. Looks pretty tight to me but this is the pic the fitter sent me with the bike on the paddock stand. Guessing it will pull away under bike and then rider weight, but will then obviously expand under heat with psi increase. Looks too close to me but what are everyone’s thoughts?
I’d be constantly thinking about that every time I stopped in traffic. That is too close to the link pipe. Rubber starts to melt and deform around the 170° mark.
That is very close and the tyre dia will get larger with speed. Couple of thoughts Are you running standard gearing or have you changed sprockets/chain length? Has the chain adjustment of the rear hub been done in the correct direction of rotation?
Yep everything else is standard, perhaps it’s the profile of the tyre but I was surprised at how close it is!
I've run 200/60's on my 1299 for years, fits perfect, improves tip in and there's less understeer. Highly recommended.
Me too, but unless its just the camera angle, I think thats gonna rub at high speeds as the tyre gets taller.
Strange it must just be a tall profile on the Rosso corsa 2. I’ve ordered a 200/55 so best try and sell this one, shout if anyone wants it!
A 200/55 has a 110mm tall profile. A 200/60 has a 120mm tall profile. All being equal the tyre is 10mm closer to the exhaust. The ride height is obviously increased by 10mm also. This alters the bikes geometry and reduces the trail at the front, hence the quicker turn in.
