1200 DVT Dvt To 1260

  1. Had my dvt s since new from 2016 and like many others not loving the new V4 so my next upgrade will be the 1260. How have others found the same change ?

  2. Have you test ridden the V4?

  3. Is there much to see as an upgrade? I must admit to liking the Enduro Pro and the Pikes Peak 1260 but that's more big tank range and aesthetics... my 1200S does great MPG and has a decent range for touring (remember touring? :sob:) and the V4 is not good in these areas... it's also a bit of a double-bagger.

  4. I went to a 1260 from a 1200, all good apart from Ducati have changed the passenger grab rail design, my wife (size 10) complains that she has a problem with the grab rails against her hips, tiny bum so it’s not that that’s the issue, anyone else had this complaint. She was use to several hours at a time on the 1200 doing down to Menton and Italy, now she has a comfort issue after about an hour

  5. And there you have it. The amount of people that would have bought a new Multistrada had it not fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch.

    I’ve spent my time and money upgrading my DVT instead of going for a new V4 and very happy I am too. It’s like having a new bike.

    I test rode a 1260 a while back, I’d like to do it again but the main differences I remember were;

    The longer swinging arm/wheelbase made the bike feel more steady but of course slower to turn.
    I liked having a quickshifter.

    That was about it really. It would be interesting to hear the thoughts from others who did the upgrade.

  6. I went this route (before v4 was out) I'm on my third multi and loved every one of them but won't be going for the v4. Shit mpg and pig ugly. I much prefer the single sided swing arm look.

  7. Perhaps if you posted some photo's of your wife's bum - we could offer some collective constructive opinions in that area ?? :D:D :p

  8. I'm on my 4th Multistrada. My last change was from 1200S to 1260 (non S). IMO the high speed handling is much better on the 1260 and it seems a bit more powerful. I like the quickshifter but don't see it as essential. I went for the change simply because the new 1260 had a 4 year warranty. I do miss the skyhook e-suspension but didn't want to pay 2,500 pounds more for a slightly smoother ride. I didn't consider the V4, due to cost, mpg and looks.

  11. And you find time to ride a motorcycle?

  12. I went from 1200DVT PP to a 1260 PP.

    It's a better bike all round. Just about every aspect is improved in my opinion. Handling, gearbox and engine.

    That said, it's not life changing, but I fancied a new bike and don't regret changing. I'll see what the 17" front V4 looks like before I decide how long I'm keeping mine, but unless it blows my socks off, I can see the 1260 hanging around for a while.
