I took mine directly to the battery. But if I had my time again, I'd go to the fusebox under the LH panel of the bike.

 

There’s a switched live taped up in the loom behind the headlight. I used it for my Garmin, really easy to get to.
Nose cone off, drop headlight bolts out. 25 minutes tops

 

Yep go for the switched live behind the head light dead easy to do and no flat battery

 

^^ agree, go down the dedicated wire route.

 

Is this found on the 950 as well?
Can see there’s a blinded plug with 4 wires, no markings on it though
