1199 Rear Hugger

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Gav4R, Jun 13, 2021.

  1. Hi guys,

Thread has finally gone on the swing arm that the rear hugger screws into.

Anyone else been in a similar position? Wondering if you have tried a screw like the M5x12:77914871A or have ended up having to use a helicoil to fit the original part: 77214411BA

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Helicoils are fast and offer a more durable thread if youre taking the hugger off regularly, otherwise just tap it out to the next size up.

  3. Thanks, any recommendations on a product to purchase that will do the job?

  4. Helicoils or taps you can get at any engineering supplier, or even at some of the big box auto parts places. Once you have the gear its a 5 minute job if you can get access to it. (remove subframe and exhaust header?)
