Access To Yoke For Front Paddock Stand

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Snips, Jul 3, 2021.

  1. I recently bought a yoke-style front paddock stand for my other bike, and reckoned I'd try it on my 959 today.

I popped it on the rear stand, all good.

I found the selection of pins that came with the stand (I had actually bothered to put them in a safe place AND remember where that was!), all good.

I then leaned over to being the process of seeing which of the pins was the glass slipper to take Cinderella to the ball...

Uh oh, the hole in the yoke isn't immediately accessible due to plastic fairing...

However, reading between the lines on the forums it sounds like there may be a small round cover I can pop out to access the yoke, and I can see what might be a access cover behind the horn, but I can't find anything specific about it, and the owner's manual doesn't mention it.

Please could someone confirm that there's a cover to access the hole for a front yoke stand, and if so, how do I remove it?

    Thanks.

  2. Yes mate. It’s a small plastic disk about an inch or so in diameter. Just pop it out with a small flat head screwy. No. 3 below.

  3. I’ve noticed on mine that the lift puts weight on the plastics too, so very reluctant to use it

  4. Others have complained that the stand has caused hairline cracks either side of the fairings as the stands catch there. The neck would appear to be slightly too short.

  6. Yep, you need to weld a washer around the pin / socket for clearance.

  13. I use one similar to (but better than) this.

It will get either the front on the Ducati or front/rear on my Kawasaki off the ground. Its very stable and will allow either the front or the back to be completely dismantled/cleaned whatever ya wanna do ;)

  14. On another level! :joy::cool:

  15. Thanks for replies, and warnings. I have a Black Pro, so will be cautious before I try, I definitely don't want cracked fairings...

    Cheers.

  16. I’ve the Harris front under yoke stand. No damage to plastics but it’s easier putting the yoke pin in first then sliding stand onto that then lift front. Although the stand does obstruct the front axel.

  17. Hard to tell from the photo but does that stand get close to the wheel/mudguard at the top stopping you being able to turn the steering to access the axle?
