Multi engine

Hello every one, I have asked this question on the multi board but no reply's so far so thought I would try here, maybe more appropriate, my query is, if the multi engine is a detuned 1198 engine then are the conrods & pistons the same in the multi as the 1198 and if so then would this not lend its self to a reliable power hike,your reply's would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Sorry Borgo, they are very different, multi is air cooled 2 valve.....1198 4 valve water cooled .
    Not sure what you had in mind to do with it...
    One guy put a turbo on his.....
    Ducati Multistrada (Turbo fitting)

    there are a few guys who have put different engines in the multi frame .....Rickity Rick has put a 748 engine in his ....over on Multistrada.net but its alot of work.

    you could go down the gas flowed head lumpier cam route ....maybe talk to Chris at CJS Racing, he would know what to do.
     
  4. Sorry final edition no only one engine but wouldn't that be some thing two engines, a lot of work and a lot of money even if you could do it your self which I can not,thank you Andriod for you ideas I will check them out and possibly Chris will have answers to rods & pistons question.

  6. Hi all, thought I would let you no that rods & pistons are not the same as 1198, part numbers are different.
