Stompgrips?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Barmbyduke, Jun 24, 2013.

  1. Anyone using these? and would you recommend fitting them?

  2. I have one on my snowboard. Does that count?

  3. Yep, I've got them. Piece of pi$$ to fit and work well for me. Some don't like them as they can feel abit harsh and have been known to wear away leathers. I've had no issues though.

i didn't fit the smaller bit to the top of the tank where its supposed to go. Instead I put it on the top of the infill below the tank. Found it works better for me there. See a few others with it like that also.

I want for a ride not long after I fitted them and straight away my balls were a lot happier due to a lot less sliding into the tank. Both on road and track they've helped me take a load off my wrists as I can grip the tank a hell of a lot better.

i couldn't imagine riding without them now.

  4. Had them on my gsxr 750

good grip but will damage your leathers......

  5. Ive used them for the last five years, trackdays and racing, and they have never damaged my kangaroo skin leathers. I really miss stompgrips the times I have used bikes without them.

  6. if you are worried about them damaging your leathers try Techspec Gripster pads, they work superbly well, wont do any damage to your gear and they will remove with no mess or damage to your paintwork if you want to take them off. :upyeah:

  7. I love them cant see how u can give the bike the full revs in every gear without slipping back on the seat ,takes the weight off your arms in braking aswell

  8. Thanks everyone, your comments appreciated as always.

  9. They're great as has already been said above. One of the first things I put on all my bikes.

  10. I use a black set and they look like they're supposed to be there. Very grippy, my nuts are alot happier :upyeah:

  11. Yip, I had them on my GSXR for 5 years and really missed them when I got the 848. I put some on a few weeks ago and really notice the difference. I would highly recommend them.

  12. I've used both Stomp Grip and Techspec Gripsters. Personally, I found Stomps grip better and I prefer the clear material.

  13. I see there are three types for the Techspecs which is considered the best?

  14. I prefer the snakeskin ones, they are the thickest and most comfortable, the thinnest one is more akin to sandpaper

  15. What he said
