Hi all, having read a few of the threads regarding 999 starter motors I assume they are a serviceable item and the brushes can be replaced. However when searching the 999 parts catalogue there is no reference of a brush kit and when doing a general internet search only 916 and its derivatives kits come up. Does anyone have the specific part number for the 999 brush kit and where I might find one.
Same part as 916 I believe as i dont think starter motors changed bar gearing used until much later than 999 era .
"Does anyone have the specific part number for the 999 brush kit and where I might find one." sorry, not off top of head, but if we bump this thread enough, someone is bound to, or if not, I will have a trawl as pretty certain starter will be common to the vast majority (of Ducati around that time).
Thanks for all your responses. Took mine apart and it was still in good condition. Whilst out checked it against pics of 916 brush assembly and they seem identical. For reference the part numbers I found were Ducati Part 067050815 Denso part 028510-0632
