Anyone Recommend A Great Gore-tex Textile 2 Piece Suit?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Martylaa, Aug 7, 2021.

  1. As above really, can anyone recommend a good gore-tex textile suit they use or have used?

  2. I tend to stick with the Dainese goretex and D dry stuff. One pair of goretex strides, then a heavier goretex jacket for the cooler/wetter riding
and a shorter D dry lighter jacket for the warmer months. It all zips together fine.
Also have denim/kevlar zip together Lindstrands kit for hot, round the doors days.

  3. I have used a revit Poseidon for 7 years, very good and did a good job during my crash, never let water in. I am 2 months into a Poseidon 2 and a little unsure if it is as good.

  4. Can’t really go wrong with Rukka

  5. Hideout is the best as far as I’m concerned, and they’ll make to measure or adjust off the peg. Not cheap though.

  6. I’ve got a Dainese Laminate and can’t recommend it highly enough. Warm in winter, cool in summer and completely dry.
I’d say no matter what you buy, buy laminate. It’s a game changer. Doesn’t hold water, and is so much better than older styles. If your on a budget, oxfords laminates are excellent value. I’d value laminate over anything else.

  7. I use top end RST gear, I find it more than adequate, it has it's own goretex rip off and costs half as much; bonus!

  8. Touratech or Stadler (but not from Motolegends). Seriously expensive but worth every penny. Better than Rukka.

  9. Have a Rukka suit, which was great but the laminate was too pricy for me when it came to upgrading it. Now use Dane - much better fit for me and just a great laminate all seasons suit. Getting pricier now though...

  10. I have a rukka suit but very interested in a Hideout suit. I’m presently in discussion with Kate at Hideout regarding a bespoke textile jacket. I’m trying to coax her into a visit to Scotland to promote their brand as I’m sure there are plenty of bikers in Scotland interested in a quality product.
I’ve suggested possibility the Buccleach arms in Moffat as a base. A real Biker friendly hotel.

  12. My vote would go to Rukka. Expensive yes, however, with a 5-year guarantee against defects, for me it's the way to go.
I've got a 4Air GT matching jacket & trousers with Goretex liners and it has been brilliant in hot and seriously wet weather riding. Works for me. :upyeah:

  13. I have a Rukka Kalix 2 suit, which is fully waterproof, lighter weight than some of their older suits, and has good ventilation for hotter weather. I’ve owned several Rukka suits over the years, and would say this is the best yet.

I bought mine earlier this year, but the jacket is too big now, so I’m about to collect another one tomorrow. If you’re a Euro 50, this could be quite good timing for you, as my used twice jacket will be in the for sale section soon!

  14. Rukka for me too, seriously good kit and totally waterproof over the past 6 years of ownership, not cheap but you get what you pay for.:upyeah:

  15. Another vote for Rukka.

  16. Rukka (6-year warranty); if you've done IAM roadcraft a large number of outlets do 15% off. Though they don't advertize this like discounts for police officers.

Place I use regularly is bikestop in Stevenage.

  18. Klim.
6 years plus with no leaks whatsoever and tested in Iceland in horrendous wind & rain.Far better vents than Rukka too.
