Hi there all, Just signed up here as a forum member and thought I'd better take the time to introduce myself. My name is Andy and I live in Jersey, Channel Islands. Not the best place to own a 160 BHP superbike as we have a 40 MPH speed limit here, however France is just across the water and it's only short blast down to Le Mans from St Malo ferry port. A fast ferry gets me accross there in under 90 mins. I currently own a 2007 1098 Base model which I just love. I bought it second hand with just 6500 miles on the clock a couple of years ago. I got it at a good price as it came in as a part ex at my work... It was in need of a clutch and was cutting / not starting intermittently. Being a mechanic this was soon sorted with a new OEM clutch assy (old basket and plates very worn). I traced the running issue to corrosion at the ECU power relay behind the battery (another well known issue). Currently on the hunt for a set of late style Termi slip ons, but it appears that these are no longer available for the 1098. Only 848 evo and 1198, which means I need an ECU re flash so suit my bike. Will let you know what I can find out, but any ideas welcome. Cheers for now. Regards, Andy.

Ha Guernseyites get everywhere. Would that be the "better Island" with the even slower 35 MPH speed limit and until recently "can't go to the pub on a Sunday" law ?? Seriously, I've had many a good booze up on your rock. Great place to be. What are you riding ?
