Maybe a daft question but can I use ACF-50 on a Multistrada? All I see is plastic everywhere, where would ACF-50 come in handy on one, any bits I should look at protecting?
I've covered mine, everything except obviously discs and controls.Been thru 3 winters. All good. All the fasteners are made of cheese. Cover them all.
Both my Multistradas have faired well over the last 5 winters. I didn’t use ACF50, just kept them in the garage.
Yup, I get All Year Biker to do mine on the drive. They coat everything other than tyres, brakes and screen. My two DVTs were used all year and both were in super condition. Wouldn’t use a bike through winter without it. I work shifts so rinsing the bike after a ride home at night isn’t really an option.
I've never used ACF50 on any of my bikes, ride them all year round, and not one of them has had any form of corrosion. The problem with ACF50 is a lot of people slather it on the bike before winter, don't clean their bikes, then are surprised when there's rust underneath. If the roads have been gritted, I just spray FS365 all over the bike before a ride, then hose and dry it when I get home, if the bike gets wet on a ride.
All Year Biker, fine mist applied by people that know what they're doing. Takes a couple of hours and more importantly they use the right kit to clean and then spray the ACF50. This is my Mutley at 10,000 miles having just been treated. have it done once a year as a rule. Costs £70 though...
I also use All Year Biker for acf50. I've had mine done every Autumn since new. I ride all year and not a hint of rust on the bike.
The same as other ACF-50 users have clarified. Every year, on every Mutli I've owned. Certainly works for me.
The number plate holder started rusting as soon as i got it home, not a big deal, just a bit annoying.
Thanks for the tips, tbh I like the idea of using the All Year Biker service for £70, there’s one in Newcastle. I’m guessing the time to get it done would be mid to late October?
Acf is £25 for the big bottle, just wipe all over and you'll have enuff to apply through the nxt year or 2
I highly recommend this stuff: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123816158651?hash=item1cd404a5bb:g:qQkAAOSwjT5dE88x Get it in your local agricultural stockist (Mole Valley, if you're in the South West) for about £10 a can. Brings up black plastics an absolute treat, smells amazing, and really helps preserve the finish. Maybe doesn't stick as well as ACF, I can't say, but at ten quid a can you can pretty much bathe the bike in it every time you get home. Works especially well on brake discs
I've been an AFC fan for 15 years, all my bikes get it in appropriate areas, but not the bodywork. I have now run out. I am now on the aviation Kroil, a mate of mind gave it to me as a tester. He worked on reconditioning jet engines at Prestwick so if it's good enough for that, it's good enough for any bike.
The xcp rustblocker is very thick and was difficult to clean off The ACF is good though ,cleaned up ok affer a whole winter commuting Anyone had ceramic coating applied ?
