1100evo compared to 2013 hyper

  1. Hi Folks

Was just looking for any thoughts from people who have owned or ridden both these bike and is there a big difference with them, close to buying an 1100 EVO as its basically half the price of the new SP version. It will also be doing 4/5 trackdays a year.

    Cheers

  2. All reviews that compare the two say that the characteristics of the engine have changed from torquey to peaky, which is understandable given the 2v to 4v switch.

See the Pistonheads review as an example: Ducati Hyperstrada: Review - PistonHeads

They also mention the cable clutch!

  3. I own a 62 plate 1100evo that ive just clocked up 1000 miles on and test rode for an hour on the strada roadshow in Plymouth on Saturday a hyperstrada, personally I find them both very different and so glad I bought my evo, I prefer the styling and look ,I like the underseat exhausts and the way it handles is spot on, feels more like a sports bike with straight handlebars, the strada feels sort of a tourer, but not, even the chap taking the rides said its neither one or the other, the seat is more practical for 2 up is which is why I bought the evo, found the strada seat not that comfy as did my 2 mates, one had the low option seat as well, also the strada is higher, im 5,10 foot and was on tip toes, my feet are flat on the floor on my evo, the strada has 3 modes, urban, sport, touring, tried them all, but in any case this bikes no tourer even with the little screen they had fitted, felt the same as my evo at 80mph on the duel carriageway as in wind blast, just my view ,I think the evo,s are great and does everything I require of it and is awesome fun, the strada just wasn't my thing im afraid

  4. A good honest review I would say, for what I will be using the bike for probably better finding a good second hand 1100evo and save several thousand pounds!!!

  5. Thanks for your comments I do really like the looks of the EVO and the bike will be doing a fair few track days and the Knockhill circuit has a short straight so torque is better for me than revs! What kind of tank range are you getting riding on the road at licence keeping pace?

  6. sorry really havnt been keeping an eye on tank range, but far far better than my 996 , for sure on the track the evo IMO would be my choice, normally im 2up on it, but few weeks ago and forgot to put the 996 on opimate, so it wouldn't go, took the evo instead and really gave it some, and as said seems like a sports bike with straight bars, just loves the twistys

  7. I had both a Hyper 1100s and an M1100S, safe to say that the Hyper bit the ust and made way for a Multi 1200. I kept the M1100S as its far more fun.

  8. Get the Evo SP and save a wad of cash, old school air cooled torque monster with dry clutch, future classic, the new version is very confused in my opinion
