My first Ducati

  1. Hi All

New to the forum and new to Ducati.

My current ride for the last five years has been an 07 Tiger 1050.

I thought it would be the only bike I would ever need/want.

So after reading all the rave reviews on the MTS 1200 I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Test rode a MTS S touring a few weeks ago and was blown away. Simply awesome. The satin silver of the demo bike didn't do it for me though, the red was nice of course but then the salesman took me into the workshop where they were preparing a new Pikes Peak for its lucky owner (oh why did he have to show me that). It was stunning.

That was it. I was sold, put my deposit down and ordered one there and then. It's the only bike I've ever bought new and I blew my budget completely, but at least I could afford it, just, otherwise I would have sold the wife and kids or be planning a bank job to get it[IMG]

I live up near Inverness. My MTS PP is nearly in the dealers but I'm stuck working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico just now so wont be able to collect her for three (very long) weeks. Can't wait[IMG]

  7. Hello and welcome!

  8. Welcome.

  9. Thanks for all the welcomes and also a big thank you to all those who have been posting loads of great info on the forum. I've had a good read through and just about every question I've had about the new Multistrada has been answered somewhere. I'm really liking this site and hoping that I'll have something to give back in the coming months.

Well I'm into my last two weeks before 'D' day when I will be collecting my Multi from Ducati Glasgow:biggrin:. I hope the weather is shaping up nicely back in Scotland as I'll have a 200 mile ride back home. It's going to be some ride though, I've got an amazing route up through the Highlands planned. How's the running in on new Ducatis? Is it hard work keeping the revs below the recommended limits? I'm guessing that's a yes!

  10. Welcome to the forum......the Mutley is an ideal bike for your part of the country (well anywhere really!)

  11. Hello and what a great choice ! Running in no problem, 6000 rpm in 6th should give you 110 I believe
done 2500 miles now and she is really lively now !
Defo the best colour choice :upyeah:

  12. Thanks guys :upyeah:. 110mph at 6000rpm in top?!!!! Sounds amazing. And yes the PP colours look awesome, I was totally sold on one as soon as I saw it. I thought I might be the first in my area to own a 2013 PP (none near me on the map) but I've seen one already, could have been visiting of course (A96 east bound between Inverness and Nairn around the 6th or 7th of June, any one know?) the missus actually spotted it first "hey Dave isn't that the one your'e getting, I thought you said there wouldn't be any others around here?" Oh well.

If any of you are planning on a blast up to the highlands this summer be sure to PM me. I know just about all the top roads around the north of Scotland and would be great to tag along and show you the sights. I know there are a few Mutley owners on this forum from the Inverness area also, I'll hopefully bump into you guys soon.
