Best Airport For Almeria

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Ket10, Nov 16, 2021.

  1. I’m looking into going to Almeria and the best flight times for me are going to Malaga, does anyone know if that a good choice or are there better Airports that I can get a direct flight to? Thanks.

  2. Mercia is closer and Alicante has more flights. We usually fly to Alicante because of the flexibility in arrival and departure times despite the 2.5 hour drive each way. Andy

  3. Mercia is closer, but never seems to be flights. Flew into Almeria once.
    Alicante has most frequent flights.
Malaga can work, but is a ballache to get in and out of.

  4. Depends where your flying from, im from the Midlands so when I've been to Almeria, usually fly from east Midlands to alicante, but don't get to the hotel till about 11.30pm. We're going to andalusia in Feb and meeting mates at Luton, and flying to malaga. Early flight so no rushing about. I think the drive from alicante and malaga are similar

  5. I’ve actually flown into Almeria airport from Manchester. Which was pretty handy. But it’s usually been Alicante… 2 hour drive to Almeria.

  6. I’m looking at flying from Luton or stansted as they are close to me, Malaga looks best regarding flight times, but if it’s difficult to get to and from then maybe Alicante would be better

  7. 6 and half a dozen. Both are a touch over 2 hours. Roads are excellent and it’s very easy driving. Beware of speed cameras heading out of Malaga though :):upyeah:

  8. Almeria airport has a slip road directly on to the main road south and is easier to get in and out of.
If you use Malaga, just allow a bit more time. Malaga car, hire off the airport, is a decent (not robbing Spanish pikeys) car hire company.

  9. We've just booked Almeria for 3/6/22. Murcia Airport was cheapest. I didnt do the bookings.

Its my 1st oversees TD. Not sure which bike I'll have by then. Prob an R1. Focused Events.

  10. Is that 3rd June? :sun::sun::sun:

  11. Murcia's ok for Almeria. About 2 hours I think. Great roads, easy miles... Enjoy :upyeah:

  12. Which hotel you in??

  13. Yes, Nelson. It will be effin hot. I know.

Im there for fun. I wont be chasing times. I'm not good enough. This is my 1st foray into moving towards a track only rider.

The hotel is Majacar. TBH, as long as it has a bed and a bar, not bothered.

  14. I say 1st, when I mean 1st overseas. I'll be doing UK ones as soon as I buy a new steed. Which requires me to sell Pani. Prob a base R1, with a view to stick brembos on and lighter wheels for now until I get some semblence of competence.

  15. I was there with focused events in December, the hotel is decent, I would imagine it to be busy in the summer with families, had a great time though, I flew to Malaga, in fact I’m just in the process of paying my 4 speeding fines that I managed to accumulate while driving to and from the airport…. Bloody cameras everywhere it seems…

  17. Due to flying from Newcastle, malaga is the best airport for me. I would have a 2 hour drive to a southern uk airport to have a shorter drive in spain
