I was reading about the proposed safety improvements yesterday https://www.bikesportnews.com/news/...outline-in-depth-safety-improvements-for-2022
That article implies to my mind that the IOM TT has been promoted and run by a bunch of rank amateurs still living in the 50’s and 60’s. I struggle with how basic and downright inadequate areas of the organisation are in the 21st century. One thing for sure, it is the end of the amateur racer carrying his bike to the island in a fishing boat and for many of the local riders. A good thing ? If it results in less death and injury, absolutely but it is the end of an era and probably the Southern 100 if these changes are implemented for other road races ...... which it makes total sense to.
