When I’m out and about, I take the small compressor that came with my Seat Leon. Needs an adaptor to take the car 12v cig lighter type plug to the BMW style auxiliary plug but works a treat. From my camping days, I also have a 240v to 12v converter if I want to use the pump in a pit garage. Andy
That would make the Crivit one a bargain then. I gave up several years ago and bought an upright "track pump" like that after a succession of hopeless foot pumps, and I think I paid a fair bit more to get a Bontrager branded one from a cycle shop. It has been good though. There's a gauge on it, but I don't trust that.
Beware pressure gauges. I had a nightmare trying to sort out what was even vaguely correct. I had a Halfords electric pump that under-read by 10psi. My current foot pumps is accurate as long as you remember that it resets to 10 psi, so you have to add this on to your desired value. A couple of £1 from Wilco pencil gauges are accurate, as is a half decent Draper gauge from tool station.
those compressors are amazing and always there as a back-up but would still like a manual pump just to do bicycle tyres without the faff. I've got a compressor on recommendation from a mate and has been faultless and for the cost it's 100 times the value of these footpumps when it comes to usefulness.
Try one of the ones that @Sam1199 brother sells, totally accurate. Don’t have the link at the minute but hopefully Sam can help
Ive got Michelin double barrel jobbie from halfords....the first one i had lasted quite a while....but it failed and i would say not down to it but more me no maintaining it....thought i was smart and bought another one of of ebay which fell apart instantly (so im guessing cheap chinese copy) bought a third....looked after it and its fine...
I'm with all you guys on this. I've had about 4 foot pumps in the last few years. Halfords own brand x2 and a Michelin one. All dreadful junk that falls to bits. How hard can it be?
