Top Up Coolant.

  1. About to top up the coolant on my 1199, the manual says top up with neat coolant, should it be mixed 50/50 . ?
    Thanks.

  2. No, not if you have the correct coolant, which should be pink in colour. Andy

  3. Not strictly true. if the dealer supplied antifreeze is pre mixed to 50/50, then further dilution is not required.

If the OP buys product that is 100% concentrate, as most after market products are, then this MUST be diluted before use. Should be diluted with deionised water.

Any decent antifreeze will be clearly marked as 100% concentrate or “ready for use”. 100% concentrate always needs to be diluted, again a decent antifreeze will give a dilution table and relevant freeze protection.

  4. Got this from M&P when I did my coolant change, this is the stuff it specifies in the owners handbook, ready to use no diluting needed, just over twenty quid for the two litres
