Hi there all, I have just joined the forum as I have recently acquired (arriving later this week :smile a 1997 Ducati 750ss which is a long held ambition since I had to sell the one I purchased brand new from my local dealer back in 1997. Times were a bit tougher back then and having bought the bike in 1997 I had to sell a year later in order to help fund a new car for the wife. :frown: Now with kids all grown up (& cash flow very slightly healthier) I have managed to acquire a replacement. Red instead of yellow this time but looking forward to it (I mean her :winkarriving later this week. Looking around the forum I can see there are a lot of like minded Ducati fans here....most of whom appear to be far more knowledgeable than I am on on the finer points of owning a 15 year old Ducati....so looking forward to sharing a few stories and getting some advice on how best to treat her! Hello and welcome! Plenty of helpful folk on here with far more knowledge than me so ask away and I'm sure someone will have an answer.
So there has been some changes since my initial post. The said Ducati I had the deposit on turned out to be a bit of an issue. Just before it was due to be delivered, the place I was buying it from confessed the bike was running like a dog...carbs were subsequently removed and sent for sonic cleaning. 2 weeks later..... carbs back and fitted........but still running like a dog. Result was my deposit was returned to me and the search commenced for another bike. Managed to find a 1997 in Yellow (sorry DucBird :smile with less than 8000 miles and one previous owner. Happy days...picked it up last week and it goes like a dream. I'll post a pic if I can work out how to.
