Has anyone had a full system fitted to there v4s multistrada? And if so what difference did it make to the full economy?? Have been told you get better mpg with full system, as with my standard system I'm lucky if I get 150 mile before the fuel waring light comes on .. my last V twin I could get 220 miles to a full tank of fuel .. Thinking of ordering the full system from my Ducati dealer before the summer gets here ... Any advice is very welcome many thanks in advance...
MPG should get better the more miles on the clock, up to a point. My 1260 certainly was something of a guzzler in it's infancy. Now reasonably frugal so long as I stay in touring mode. Though if I'd wanted economy I would have bought a C90.
Lots of 'spirited' discussion on the pikes peak thread about full systems in the last few days. Though not about fuel economy
150! You we’re lucky my last tank had the light on at 111miles . It averaged less than 30mpg for that fill. I usually stay in touring mode but may need to think about the urban engine map to see if it’s less thirsty (though still under 1300miles on its bores).
If better fuel economy is your only reason for fitting a full system, it’s going to take a hell of a lot of fill ups to get your £2.5k back!
I understand the issue with mileage, but if you own a Ducati , for me it’s a ride of passion , so if it does 120 or 150 or ….. I don’t care as every mile is worth more than an eye on the trip …in fact on the 1250 gs it was the same , but maybe I just love riding
My 1260S does 16.4 km/l in touring mode. The gasoline here is 96 octane and 25% ethanol blend. Today, a liter of this gasoline costs US$ 1.25. So with $20.42 I drive 330 km = 207 miles. Is very good. This bike is worth every penny spent. As I live in a continental country, on any weekend trip I spend at least 4 to 5 tanks!!!! I have friends who tell me that their Ducati can do up to 17.5 Km/l. They are more rounded bikes. Mine still has only 7800 km on it, I believe it will reduce fuel consumption in the future. It really doesn't matter!!!!!
My 1200 dvt does around the same and is actually a bit better as it's aged. Love my bike and love all it's little foibles and idiosyncrasies too..... and its mpg! My mate has an Aprilia Tuono V4 2021. Lovely bike but even worse mpg than the v4 Mut.! 120 between fill ups. We're supposed to be going to Germany in 4 weeks (If it still exists!) so I better start planning fuel stops for him.!
We go Germany couple times a year (harz) and 2 of us had V4SF last year - 80 miles to light 110 absolute max
Tbf, after 80-110 miles on a V4SF, I’d be ready for a leg stretch, so that wouldn’t be a problem for me.
