I've got the opportunity to buy an imported V4R which has some light damage from a crash. Before I take the plunge, is there a way to confirm it's a genuine V4R? It's come over from the US and has around 15k kms and probably needs around 4k of parts to make it mint again but not sure how much the value is affected by the fact that it's an import.
If I put my VIN in this site it correctly deciphers it's an 1100CC 2020 panigale V4. putting the VIN of your purchase in should yield the model and displacement (which would confirm the r) https://www.vindecoderz.com That bike appears to be an S to me. Electronic suspension. Upgraded with R fairings for the wings. Maybe an 18 or 19 S?
Thanks for the info. I’m a little out of touch with the specs of the latest Ducati’s so hadn’t clocked the suspension discrepancy. Looks like I need to decide if it’s worth the effort and getting it on the road or leave this one alone.
Id leave it unless it was a real bargain. 15k is not a lot but its enough to devalue it, that bike is an S.
Thanks for all the advice and info. guessing that the spec on v4s and v4r are the same regardless where the bike is from? it’s up for £10-11k but that feels like a gamble now as there’s probably about £4K to sort it.
Something we all missed, V4R is a mono posta so no passenger footrests unlike the ones in the picture Andy
