Hi fellas. So, i bought a delivery mileage 1098R from the USA. I guess it hasn't been fired up for many years. I have fitted a new battery, and when i switch on the ignition, the warning lights (indicator, oil, neutral etc) along the bottom of the dashboard, are rapidly scrolling towards the middle from both sides repeatedly. In the middle of the dash is "SBK", to the left it says "load", and on the right in a box it says "che", and below that "005". Has anybody ever encountered this?

Been doing some more reading and found Monster owners were suffering from a similar error on their dashes. Solutions ranged from new coil/injector/pump relays, new batteries to new regulator rectifiers. Most reported that dealers had been unable to identify the cause.
If Scorpio cannot help then try Wayne (aka Rider Logic on the JPDiag Forum). Based in Oz, he is an expert with dashboards. https://www.facebook.com/Riderlogic/
Do you happen to know, if when you replace a faulty dashboard, you also have to replace keys/ignition/locks/ecu?
On the 1098 the immo is within the dash. With a 2nd hand dash you need the two keys and ideally the code card. As the immo chips can be removed from the keys then a new lock set is not needed. Just transfer the chips to the old keys.
Thanks Chris. What about a new dash? Can that be matched (maybe by a Ducati dealer) to my current key chip?
