  1. Hi Guys,

Next week I’m going on a road trip for two weeks with the family, with the van. We are heading to snowdonia from the Netherlands. Does anyone have some tips, routes, epic scenery? Everything is welcome.

    cheers Nick

  3. Betwsycoed is a great day destination. Beautiful little town with nice restaurants, outdoor shops and a beautiful set of waterfalls.

The A5 north over the mountain pass to Bangor is a lovely picturesque road.

If you like mountain biking consider https://naturalresources.wales/days...t-wales/coed-y-brenin-visitor-centre/?lang=en

Lake Bala has a good water sports centre.

This place has superb food to buy or enjoy on site https://rhug.co.uk/

The walk up Snowdon itself is spectacular with routes for all abilities.

+1 for the Ffestiniog railway; start at Porthmadog.

  9. Visit the island of Anglesey too...

  10. If you go on the Ffestiniog Railway you get to see the beautiful route the workers travelled every day from Porth Madoc to the slate quarries.

If you then visit the stunning Penrhyn Castle you get to see the immense wealth slate created for the quarry owners

  12. If you're going into the higher places or the lakes & rivers, pop in to Plas-y-Brenin and have a chat. It's the National walking, climbing, kayaking, etc training centre (or B&B there if you get fed up with camping!).

  13. Portmeirion is brilliant. An Mediterranean oasis on the Welsh coast. Book in advance as it gets very busy.

  15. And take out a bank loan too :upyeah:

  16. I did the big one they have, and it was something like £80 at the time, possibly 2016. You get to have a go on a small practice wire, fun in itself, and then the big one which is spectacular. You also get a video of your experience included (or I did back then).

Definitely worth it, in my opinion.
