Crutchlow was awesome yesterday - He really needs a factory ride next year - I think a move to Ducati will be a mistake though, and would prefer to see Yamaha run 3 factory bikes next year...
I like Cal, I like to see him do well. I was a little unsure about his comments regarding the race result podiums would have been the same had Lorenzo and the miserable dwarf been fit. As for the factory Yamaha and the monster Yamaha, is there really that much difference now?
There probably isn't much difference, but as Conquest Carbon has mentioned in his report, the factory bike will add to the confidence levels if Cal were to get a ride next year. If he does, let's hope that Yamaha don't just use him to test all the new bits for the bike before Rossi and Lorenzo get them fitted! It's a shame about Pedrobot and Lorenzo as that would have made for a more interesting race - Cal does seem to be rather unstopable this year though. Good to see Bradders in the top 10 as well - Bradl will be another one to watch as he seems to be on the pace this year as well!
He's a good rider and a great competitor but at 27 I reckon that Ducati is his last shot at a Factory bike in MGP, as Yamaha have gone on record that he wont be guaranteed a seat even after a Tech 3 extension. He'd be better to stay with tech 3 regardless but i suspect his ambition will take him to Ducati for 12/24 months followed by WSB as after that stint he'll be 30 and done in MGP without a championship win.
Why would you want to see Crutchlow on the Ducati? It can't even beat a well-ridden CRT. Talk about the kiss of death to a career. If you want the poor guy to fade into anonymity, joining Ducati would be the way to achieve it. Sad, but that is currently how it is.
Ducati have to change though . Audi dont do second best . They will be working hard on a replacement bike that will come out winning . After all who would have thought a diesel would win in 24 hour racing at top level.
True. They wouldn't do so bad if they just copied what Honda and Yamaha have done and tweak it, rather than try and be ground breaking and shit.
Franco sheene wasn't rich he was employed by the royal college of surgeons as the site engineer, and happened to prep bikes in his spare time then took on importing Bultacos. Now Mike Hailwoods old man was a different story.
According to the Eurosport lot Cal's bike is Lorenzo's 2012 bike, so allowing for further development of the 2013 machine, Cal will be at a disadvantage later in the season. Duke
I think Brad is largely being ignored which is a shame as he is doing very well, much better than I expected tbh and improves every session, almost every some races
I think it's been good for Bradley to be ignored. He's been allowed the time to improve without the pressure to perform beyond his capabilities, and is now learning how to get the best from his bike. Good luck to the boy, hopefully he will soon be up there challenging the works bikes for better points!
Cal to Ducati would be a huge mistake/waste. The right direction is Honda/HRC, Pedrosa out, Cal in. Now THAT would lead to some interesting racing! Cal has the speed, ability and drive...just hope he gets the right seat next season.
