How Long/ Years A Ducati Owner?

  1. Boughr my first Duc (748E) from Bob Hill, nice bloke but totally chaotic. Got the bike quite quickly, think it was about 8-10 days from ordering, probably because I was paying cash for it and he liked the idea of readies.

  2. I assumed I was a relative late comer, but apparently not. 2005 for me,

    Monster 620
    Monster 696
    Monster 1100S
    1098
    Panigale 959 Corse
    Streetfighter V2

So far, the bikes I've owned have ever missed a beat.

  3. Late 90s bought my first 748. Chopped and changed between 748/916/996 since. Had the current 998 since 2011. Owned other, mainly Japanese bikes as well though. So currently have a ZX7 as stablemate. Wondering what I want next, if anything?

  4. I've blanked everytime, but mates have had some crackers!

  5. Traded in a 5pw R1 for a s4r in 2006, since then I’ve had a 1098 streetfighter an 800 scrambler and now a 1200r which I bought in 2017 and have hardly ridden it (1900 miles)!!!!

  6. First ducati 748, next 916 Senna, 996, 998, gap of some years then 749s. 848 evo, panigale 1199, aprilla v4r,now Streetfighter 848,Matt black lv it.Over 22 years riding ducati's.

  7. November 1998

  8. 2004 bought an ST4 from Three Cross, now they were bad, but it was a great bike. In about 2009 I traded the ST4 for BMW K1300S because Ducati stopped making them and I couldn’t love the ugly MTS. Tried the 1200 MTS in 2014, but was also running an F800GS, eventually swapped them both for a GSA, now back in the fold with a V4S travel and radar. Had a Panigale in 2014 for a couple of years but most of my riding at the time meant it couldn’t be used and it was just an unnecessary cost.

Short answer is 18 years with breaks

  9. Bought 749 new in 2003 and traded it in last year for my multistrada 950s well happy with it....

  10. It’ll be 9 on Wednesday :)

  11. About 12 years, I started dropping the amount of pots, went from 4 (gsxr) to 3 (triumph s/triple gen 1, 955 daytona) to 2 (aprillia rsv,Honda sp2) to an 1198.

it looks like I've stabilised at 2 cylinders :D

Wish i could have kept the sp2 though but trade in value is essential when money is tight.

  12. In November of 1990 I put a deposit down on the upcoming 907ie. Picked it up in the spring of '91 and have owned Ducatis ever since. In 1995 I bought a 900ss, and that was the beginning of owning only Ducatis. Once I had the 900 I stopped riding my Honda Hawk. Sold it and didn't ride other brands until an Aprilia RSV-R track bike a few years back. Sold that after a couple years and a ton of dollars cuz I never bonded with it. Then in 2020 I got the great idea that once I retired I'd want to do some touring, and that would be a great bike for it. Retired and decided I hated riding on interstates, I'd rather hook a trailer up drive to where I wanted to be, and ride from there. Hey, you ride across Nebraska a couple times before you tell me I'm wrong.

I decided that if I was going to trailer the bike I may as well have something more fun than a Guzzi, so I put a deposit down on a 2022 Streetfighter V2. That came in last week, so I'm back to owning only Ducatis.

So yeah, Ducati owner since 1991.
