So far as I know when a car is modded to backfire the CAT is removed. If not the catalyst will breakup due to the pops and bangs. So not only is the practice antisocial but illegal due to tamper/delete of exhaust catalyst. If the cops would pull and inspect vehicles they might get a few results, instead of the bullshittery nonsense, pursuing legal modded sport bikes but ignoring straight thru Harley ear busters.
