899 Got 899 Panigale, Love The Bike. The Noise Is Too Insane, Any Tips On How To Acquire Akra Baffle?

  1. Hey guys, purchased this beauty:

But the problem is the seller didn't have baffles for Akra exhaust, this thing is defeating if I'm not with earplugs and especially to people around me. I am failing to find the baffles online, any off chance people here have it? Or have advice where to look better?
Otherwise I will have to swap the beautiful akra for standard can :(

This is the slip-on that I have: https://imgur.com/85dKV4X

  2. They appear to exist, a quick google brought up:

Perhaps it will be helpful as a starting point. Goodluck!

  4. Amazing thanks very much for the link! I will buy those. Completely forgot about pipewerx, bought my first slip-on from them 6 years ago for er6f, going full circle :D
Do you guys know how it works if I fit these baffles, I'm assuming the backpressure changes, so do I need to remap the bike? The seller said there is rapid bike unit inside of the bike, which I believe has autotune, so I suppose I don't have to do anything?

  5. To get the absolute best possible mapping, a remap would be beneficial as there is a slight difference. But from a friend with a 1299 who had his mapped without the baffles, they then after is was mapped put the baffles in and ran it on the dyno again, and the difference was miniscule and pretty much irrelevant, unless you are fanatically about getting every last decimal out of the engine.

Have you gotten the Rapid Bike software and read the manual and looked at how the RB unit is configured on yours. The autotune on RB is good from personal experience on the 1199, but the autotune by default has very conservative limits to how much is it allowed to adjust. If I remember correctly I think default was +/- 5 change in either direction, then you should go in on a regular basis in the software and if a lot of the data points are at the max change you should accept and save the changes and then let it auto adjust again and repeat the process again until you get to a point where the adjustments are no longer being maxed out in the fueling tables. I changed the allowed change parameters in mine to around the double of default so I was running at +/- 10 to get larger adjustments and over a few months of bi/tri weekly accept and change in the software it settled down and the adjustments were staying within the range.

There are some good explanations of RB by the US distributor in the following threads:

  6. The ones from Akra will cost you £142. Dont ask me how I know. Theyre feckin useless anyways. As are the pipewox ones. I have both. Its easier to just stand further away.

  7. See if you can find a local ish exhaust maker who can knock you something up
