I recently purchased a 2018 Panigale V4S as a monoposto that I was told did not come with a pillion seat assembly. I would like to know if the 2018 and 2019 V4Ss did actually come with a pillion seat assembly including foot pegs, in addition to the monoposto seat when supplied new? I no longer have this bike but am currently looking to replace it with another Panigale V4S so obviously need to know if it should have the pillion seat as well, or not. Thanks in advance for any replies.
I am fairly sure the dealers are obliged to supply the pillion seat and footpeg kit with a new V4. I never bothered pursuing it as I wasn't interested in fitting them.
Thanks for all the replies. Did you guys above who didn't get the pillion seat buy your bikes brand new or used?
Brand spankers. But pillion seat didn’t hit my radar as it was gonna be a track bike from the get go…
Brand new, never intended to fit a pillion seat so as mentioned, never chased them for it. However, it might be an idea to have one if you ever come to sell a bike, in case the new owner intends to use it, much like including any standard parts you may have removed.
Thanks. I agree that the seat should be with the bike for the reasons you say plus whoever buys the bike off you when you sell it may want to chip you for the cost of the seat which will not be cheap.
Mine may have a seat come to think of it. I stripped off the OE subframe/seat and fitted a carbon fibre monocoque. And bloody lovely it is too!
My 2019 V4S Corse came with pillion foot legs , pillion seat and replacement rear fairings with the bike when new. All are still in the box brand new. I’m never going to use them.
