Multi at Donnington - how will it fare

  1. Taking my Multistrada on track for the first time in May. Booked on a track day at Donnington with No Limits. I've only been on track once before and that was on a hired GSXR at Silverstone.

I've got Pilot Road 3 s on the bike, what do you think? Will they take it?

  2. Hi Gord if its anything like when i took my multi around Cadwell you will have a fantastic time, not been to Donnington since it was reopened .....enjoy

  3. You'll love Donnington, one of the best tracks anywhere in the world. Don't worry about your tyres, as long as you've got the correct pressure in them (drop a couple of psi from road pressures) and they're in good condition, you'll be fine.

  4. Assuming it's a new multi, chuck it in sport, two up with luggage and you've got one of the best track weapons around, PR3's should be fine for your level on track but if you start getting too quick you'll need more focused rubber

  5. It is a new Multi, but only the lowly base model!

Do you think it's worth getting the suspension set up on the day.?

  6. I would say yes for the £40 or so it'll cost, NL use 100% suspension from memory and Colin is a good guy. They should take a note of the settings as they are and work with you after every session to tweak them accordingly based upon your feedback.

At the end of the day you'll receive a sheet with all of the settings so you can revert back to standard once done if required.

  7. Taken my multi to cadwell. Excellent.. as quick as anything out there. Running in the inters.. Well worth getting your suspension set up, made all the difference to mine. Just make sure you keep you toes tucked away, or you'll wear out your boots! Its great showing the sports bike how its done! P.S i was still on the standard tyres then

  8. Well, had a day (or most of) at Donnington on the Multi. So much fun. Rode down, rode 'round and round, rode home......

Bike was ace, I've only been on track once before on a hired GSXr 600, being on your own bike is so much better.

I had the PR3s on, the tyre guys thought they were fine. They got good and warm and sticky.

Day was a mixture of sunshine and showers, got 3 good session and half a fairly wet one in. Deffo going again, maybe Oulton? Donnington is a great track.

Didn't end so well for my brother tho. He lowsided his Fireblade at Coppice as it started to rain:frown: He's ok, but the bike cart wheeled in throught he gravel. Repairable, but sad al the same.

I was really impressed with the number of people that came to console and advise him. What a day.

  9. Never thought Id ever see the words Luggage and track weapon in the same sentence.

  10. I never thought I'd see someone running "slicks" in winter either!
