Phone Holder And Hands Free Kit - Best Options

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Raddy1, Aug 20, 2022.

  1. Hi Guys,
I am looking for a phone holder to sit on the handle bars to allow me to use the sat nav.
Apologies but not a techno so don't want to go out and buy some cheap crap that does not do the job.
    Any recommendations greatly appreciated

    TIA

  2. Safest option - turn it off - Put it in your pocket or a handlebar bag.

That way you can watch the road - that way you can concentrate and live longer..

  3. Yes very good point - probably did not word the note correctly, i have been travelling to the coast a few times this year, it takes a couple of hours, during this time i have no contact (as you said my phone actually goes in the rucksak) so no distraction

  4. Oh yes, it’s a much under rated system, I don’t need a scrolling map, just need to know left or right turn & normally either close to arrival point or leaving to get home. The rest of the route you normally know. It’s a useful aide-memoir.

  6. I just connect my ear buds to my phone then use google maps or whatever satnav app. Close the phone, put it in my pocket and use one earbud to get the spoken directions. Works really well and no looking down at a screen which I’ve tried in the past and it nearly had me off .

  7. That’s a good and safe way of getting your directions Zeus.

  11. I use a Quad Lock phone case and the Evotech multistrada high level mount with the quad lock vibration damper. Works great and keeps phone closer to eyeline.

Expensive to get into but very transferable and lots of options, also no phone camera lens damage iPhone 11 Pro.

  12. SP Connect with an anti vibration mount.

  13. Do you have an iPhone? Do you want to be able to use the camera?
If you answer yes to both questions then I would forget mounting your iPhone on the handlebars despite claims by sellers of handlebar mounts. Ask Apple https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212803

  14. +1 for the Beeline, i bought mine last year and it has been invaluable, as a blood biker i have been sent out to unfamiliar medical locations at night and when paired with 'What three words' it has never let me down, far more practical than a fancy vibrating phone mount and always thinking your phones gonna break loose and smack you in the chops!...just straightforward left/right and roundabout exit directions with a dot countdown for location distance - recommended:upyeah:

  15. I’ve done tens of thousands of miles with my phone on my handlebars, over all sorts of terrain. With the anti vibration mount, haven’t had a problem. Apple are just covering their arses.
