  1. The Apple AirTag is a Bluetooth device, it has limited range and relies on another compliant Apple device being within range and being connected to the iCloud, for you to ‘see’ it. IMO, there is no substitute for a tracker designed and manufactured for the specific purpose of vehicle security. Andy

  2. Hi.
I have bought a Monimoto gps tracker for my V4 and it works brilliantly, it does not need to be wired in, the rechargeable battery lasts for 12 months, and if anyone touches my bike I get a warning message on my phone with the ability to track in real time if it were stolen. Cheap enough to buy with a low annual subscription for the tracking.

  3. I wanted a Monimoto as its not hard wired but my insurer’s (who insisted on me having a tracker S6 or S7 Thatcham approved) would not accept the Monimoto. I’m having a BikeTrac fitted this week so I’ll let you know. I have pals with this one fitted and whilst most grumbled about it before , they all rate the tracker and say they wouldn’t be without it now …..

  4. ha ! We use one of those for our Labrador on the off-chance he ever goes AWOL or worse ! Never thought about it for the bike !

  5. Biketrac - was installed as part of the package 2 years ago. I don't know if it is a drain on the battery as I have mine on trickle charge when garaged. Does work as I have received a call (like someone else) when I first got it when I wheeled it outside without turning on the ignition. I like it for the ability to download the trips I do (you set the day & time required) Biketrac.jpg which then allows me to take note of any particular road I liked. The photo is just a screenshot - it can be expanded down to each minute it tracks giving you a detailed map.

  6. BikeTrac happy owner here; any GPS is the only way your basically getting the vehicle back. And now-a-days with size of the fobs, thieves are actually adding fobs to bikes at meets. So they can find out where to come & steal yours. Then they dump the bike down a quiet lane or avenue for a few days. To see if police turn up & chop it up onto feebay.

  7. They are handy little things and very reasonably priced. Very accurate as well. Mine shows the bike sitting on my drive which is about 5m from where it actually is. Considering its parked indoors it's super accurate.

  8. I recommend the Moni Moto. Like others on here I couldn't get insured without a tracker and was apprehensive about having something hardwired and potential battery drain. These cost about £135 and are completely portable and weather proof. Comes with a key fob and if the bike is moved without the fob present the tracker alerts you via the app you download. The app also monitors the battery life of both your tracker and fob. There is no subscription but you pay roughly £36 a year for the SIMM in the tracker, you also get the first two months free SIMM wise when you purchase (Or at least you did!). The other thing is if you sell the bike this is transferable or you can out it in your car etc, etc

  9. I can recommend you to use - PEGASE: https://smtperformances.com/en/ No battery issues, no communication issues, alarms totally configurable, always ready, gpx export to use with other apps (Relive!). Allows to merge several rides. Easy to install, own app with permanent improvements, very easy to use. One upfront cost, and that's all, no more worries!
