Had my v4s now for a couple Of days and have done 350 miles so far. the bike is brilliant but I get bad pins and needles in my left hand. My right hand is fine just my left. Anyone else get this? And have found a fix
Don't grip the bars. Rest your hands on them gently. You should be caressing them like their your woman's nipples.
Going from a 1260 to the V4S I found my left arm and shoulder would ache a bit after a ride, no tingles in my hands though. The V4 bars are wider than the 1260 and the seat position and pegs are different, after about 1000 miles my old joints had adjusted to the new position, and now it is all day comfortable.
Its a big stretch to the clutch lever and the bite point is right at the end of the travel. I'm getting a Ducabike lever fitted next week that will allow me to just the bite point hopefully.
I have narrower bars on mine and short levers, can ride all day. I had a problem on an old BMW with vibration affecting my hands, seemed to drain them of all feeling. Could be you're hanging on too tight, relax.
Should have added that I have Ducabike Levers on mine but that was because of a problem I have with my right hand. I doubt hand tingling is due to the clutch lever, as others have said using a lighter grip may help until you get used to the bike positioning.
Actually, I dont believe the V4 bars are wider than 1260, I measured my 1260 bars before getting the V4 and can advise they are the same width
I hadn't measured them so that may well be correct. The seating position for me did however feel quite different, maybe lower all round that made me have to get used to a different body position and after a good few miles I now have no aches at all. The other difference is that I can now stand up on the pegs very easily and that wasn't the case with the 1260.
Exactly this, I had the same issue many years ago with a K1300S whilst I was doing advanced training, I tried grip puppies, waste of money for me. Once I had it pointed out to me that I was holding on to much/hard and relaxed, no problem since, with any bike since.
On the 1260 - I fitted bar end weights from Evotech and also filled the ends of the bars with lead shot wrapped in heat shrink for more weight. - Have a look if Evotech do them for the V4.
