V4 Thinking Of Buying A V4s

  1. @Captain its all good. It’s usual motorbike forum behaviour for members to vigorously defend whatever model they have and end up falling out. Something we here seem able to avoid.

Everyones different. I had a GS for 3 years and just did not get on with it, to the point I thought I was done with bikes. One ride on a Multi sorted that. But I can’t deny the enthusiasm some of those boys have for that bike. Fair play to them.

    Then there’s Harleys!

  2. I’m not upset. I’ve ridden both, and find the PP suits my needs more, and on any type of road I find it sublime. I have spent a fair bit of time playing with tyre pressures and suspension settings to find what works for me.

  3. We are all happy , that’s the main thing .
But if I get the C90 cub out you wanna be scared as I will run rings around Rossi on that baby :joy:

  4. I've never ridden one.

They're a bit like other 'lifestyle choices', I'm happy in the comfort of assuming I won't enjoy it!

  5. then of co
Then of course there are the KTM's, which seem to be the exclusive domain of hunchbacks and child molesters, but that is just an observation and not a qualified opinion in any sense ;)

  6. Me too. I look at them and just see the riding position and it reminds me of a cartoon character that has hit a lamp post at speed.

  7. Owners of the PP have waited a long time for theirs to be delivered. And some even bought the V4s as a stop gap while they waited. On the forum, so far there has been captain who prefers the V4s to the PP. But if there are other PP owners who'd like to swop, I'm your man

  8. no ta :D
mine's now done 4k miles and, given the almost year wait list and fact RRP has just gone up again to £2k more than i paid, apparently its still worth more than i paid new. bloody world's gone mad...........

  9. What, and fit those bloody guards again?!

  10. I bought the radiator and oil guard from gc6269, and on my way to Spain I dropped in to collect them. His lovely wife made me a cup of tea while I sat back and let Gc fit them for me. What a guy. Dont worry; I was not serious about swapping.

  12. It is a no brainer. I came from a Panigale 1299 and a Multi 1260. The V4S is a superb bike all round. The engine is a dream. Just come back from a 1200 mile tour of France with no complaints. The bike was great and a joy to ride. 19 inch wheel did take a bit of getting used, now don’t even notice it. Superb bike for a blast. As good as any sports bike.

  13. I fitted Pirelli Angel GT 2’s to May V4S… second set now and is the single best mod I’ve done. Transforms the already amazing handling to an even quicker tip in/ response rate. Highly recommend them

  14. Out of interest , how did they feel as they are V rated not ZR as thought about them but was told they could not be fitted to the bike as the rating was low and not for the bike.
Saying that , my mate rode with a set on his SMT 990 in Spain for 2.5 K and found them great and even managed one more 300 mile ride round Wales after the trip , but they were shot . He said the same as you great set even tho this usual choice is the Diablo Rosso 2 , felt as good and lasted a lot longer.

  15. Very remise of me as I normally check the speed ratings but admit I didn’t with the Angel GT 2s. V rating is 240kph/149mph… I’m unlikely to be exceeding that… That said I may try Michelins next.
