Thanks all after weighing up all the pros and cons both will be great bikes but I'm sticking with my original decision the PP. I would only kick myself everytime I see one.
Other than by next year the PP SP 195bhp model will be released with launch control, 200 section rear tyre and removable grab rail.
Hi I’ve just come back from a 1200 mile trip of France and the V4S is superb in all conditions. There is no doubt this is one of the best bikes I have owned and is a great all rounder. Luggage capacity with the standard panniers is only limited with the box that goes over the exhaust. The top box is a great size as well. I rode all sorts of roads over there. Nothing extreme though and the bike was great. Other versions of the Multi are focused towards specifics area’s. The V4S is the best all rounder.
I think I can help you. She is 1.83 cm tall and I travel a lot with my wife around Europe. My previous bike was a 2013 PP, unique Pikes Peak with lightweight forged wheels and active suspension. That's why I didn't change it earlier. I am from the south of Spain and here the roads are quite bad and with my previous PP I was going very fast in any circumstance or road condition. I've been testing the V4s for a day and over 300km and loved it...so much so I almost ordered one on the fly but wanted to see if it was the new PP. Finally in May they gave me my new PPV4 (my fourth new Ducati) Couldn't be happier with her. For me, it's the best Multistrada ever... as long as you approach it as a "high handlebar sports car". It is a motorcycle with which you can go very fast on infamous roads, with water with total confidence and without ever giving you the feeling that you are going fast. In this aspect it is far superior to V4S which has a different touch. In just 5 months I already have 11,000 km and this summer I have made a trip to Europe with my wife of 5,500 km (alps 15 days). Better impossible!!!! With the 3 standard saddlebags we had a lot of luggage, a small tank bag and of course the original touring high screen (it's optional, I usually take the carbon one). The PPV4 is not a track bike at all, as many insist on saying. It is a sports bike for any type of track and at the same time it is a great road bike to go as a couple to the end of the world. In addition, you have a wide range of wheels to choose from and be able to give it the touch you prefer and for your use. I have Pirelly Angel Gt 2 and delighted, I can use the tire from side to side and hurry them and do long trips. If you like the PP, do not hesitate to buy it, you will be surprised how easy it is to go fast on all kinds of routes and how comfortable it is to go with 2 people and loaded to the top. you will see.!!! How fast the V4 PP is is logical, but that tourist facet, with that smooth engine and suspension that becomes comfortable, will not surprise you. To travel with my wife I take the touring smoked screen, heated seats, stand and tank bag and the 2 original suitcases with their bags (enough for 15 days as a couple). With your height, buy the high seat and put it as high as possible, you will see how comfortable it is. With the touring screen, not only do you not get wet if it rains, but with the screen open you can talk to your partner without any problem and they won't give you an insect. 100% recommended and it takes 5 minutes and change. I value the Rally for the 30 liters, but that aluminum tank, in any silly fall, is going to have a very bad repair, keep that in mind.
